Volunteer Meeting Luncheon Announced for May 17th
We are excited to invite the community to our first Volunteer Meeting Luncheon on Saturday, May 17th at 12:30 PM at the Belmont Street (Bell Hill) Campus of Journey Community Church. Come meet the team, hear the vision, and take your first steps as a pantry volunteer.
Dedicated Pantry Space Secured at Plumley Village
We are thrilled to announce that through our partnership with Schochet Companies, we have secured dedicated space within Plumley Village Apartments at 16 Laurel Street to house the food pantry permanently. This is a landmark milestone in our journey toward opening.
Journey Community Outreach, Inc. Officially Formed
Journey Community Outreach, Inc. has been officially established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This new entity will serve as the operating organization for the Plumley Village Food Pantry, providing the organizational infrastructure needed to build and sustain a world-class community pantry.
The Vision for Plumley Village Food Pantry is Born
Journey Community Church, with years of presence in Worcester's Bell Hill neighborhood and Plumley Village Apartments, formally cast the vision for a community-owned food pantry. Recognizing food insecurity as one of the most pressing challenges facing our neighbors, the church began laying the groundwork for what would become the Plumley Village Food Pantry.
